Business Support

In addition to helping you get to grips with bookkeeping and payroll via training and support, we also assist small businesses with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) compliance.

It's estimated that nearly a third of small businesses are still not complying with their GDPR data protection requirements, six months after the 25th May 2018 deadline. The new requirements enforced more stringent processes regarding the collection and use of customer data and required businesses to consider the data they collected, the way such data was used and to gain explicit consent for such use.

As part of the new regulations, businesses have also been required to undertake a Data Audit and compile a Data Privacy Impact Assessment. The audit and assessment demonstrate how the data is collected, who the data will be shared with and for how long such data will be retained. After completing such an exercise the business must evaluate the impact of any data loss and how such loss is/will be prevented. These regulation further extend to the use of website cookies and the collection and use of information obtained from users of the businesses website.

All business should also have a privacy policy in place which details the commitments they will make to ensure all requirements of GDPR are met. Additionally, the businesses must provide information on training and retention policies adopted in relation to employment and staffing.

Exe Bookkeeping and Payroll Services can assist with all aspects of the requirements from determination of data sources and use of data to purposes of sharing; creating working documents required to ensure your business is fully GDPR compliant.
