Why do I need to keep business records?
All businesses are legally required to keep details of their income and expenditure in a legible format for the calculation of VAT and Tax. From April 2019, this will mean keeping digital records for the purpose of sending regular updates to HMRC and filing VAT returns, under the Making Tax Digital (MTD) directive.
